Summary:
The AR Credit Specialist is responsible for overseeing the credit and collections process to optimize cash flow and minimize bad debt risk.
They evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers, establish credit limits, and monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely payments.
Additionally, they work closely with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing disputes and maintain positive customer relationships.

Responsibilities:
Credit Assessment:
Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers by analyzing financial information, credit reports, and payment histories.
Credit Limit Setting:
Determine appropriate credit limits for customers based on risk assessment, financial data, and company policies.
Collections Management:
Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue payments through phone calls, emails, and letters.
Dispute Resolution:
Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing disputes and discrepancies in a timely manner.
Cash Application:
Ensure accurate and timely application of customer payments to their respective accounts in the accounting system.
Credit Policy Compliance:
Enforce credit policies and procedures to mitigate bad debt risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Customer Communication:
Maintain regular communication with customers to address payment issues, negotiate payment plans, and cultivate positive relationships.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable aging, collections performance, and credit risk analysis for management review.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline the credit and collections process, enhance efficiency, and reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).
Credit Monitoring:
Monitor customer accounts for signs of financial distress or changes in credit risk and take appropriate actions to mitigate potential losses.
Assist accounting team with assignments as needed.
Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and credit reports.
Strong interpersonal (both verbal and written) communication skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and analysis.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
