- Perform industrial cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors - Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies as needed - Empty trash receptacles and replace liners - Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, and windowsills - Clean and polish glass surfaces - Maintain cleanliness of common areas, such as hallways and lobbies - Operate buffing machines to maintain floor appearance - Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials - Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel - Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols
Experience:
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred - Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment, including buffing machines - Familiarity with safety procedures for handling cleaning chemicals - Ability to work independently and efficiently - Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks - Good communication skills to report any issues or concerns Please note that this is a general description of duties and responsibilities for the position of Janitor.
