6K a year 21 hours ago 21 hours ago 21 hours ago GENERAL SUMMARY AND SCOPE Under the direct supervision of the Director or a Registered Pharmacist - and according to the standard procedures - compounds and readies for dispensing medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving orders from physicians or other qualified prescribers; maintains the drug inventory; maintains records; processes patient prescriptions and related orders and labels; inspects medication in the retail setting; and performs various other related duties.
Pharmacy technicians do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.
ESSENTIAL TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Procures and distributes prescriptions or requests per physician legal prescription, pharmacist request or pre-arranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures and protocols, and within specified time frame.
Verifies all orders/prescriptions with pharmacist on duty, informs pharmacist of any medications that do not seem in line with the patient's condition or previous medications.
Contacts pharmacist in regards to any medications that have exceeded a standard treatment period.
Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies, procedures, and protocols and within specific time frame.
Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations.
Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date.
Identifies and replaces outdated and unusable drugs.
Returns medications to wholesaler as required.
Acts on medication recall notices and notifies supervisor as needed.
Coordinates yearly inventory with inpatient area and pharmaceutical purchasing technician.
Performs monthly inspection of retail pharmacy area.
Completes at least weekly countdown of cash register and makes deposits with hospital cashier.
Re-stocks prescription and retail supply items Delivers medications to patients at bedside throughout the hospital including surgical recovery.
Accepts payment at the transaction.
Adheres to hospital PPE policies.
Contributes to the effective operation of the department.
Enters prescriptions into pharmacy computer system accurately.
When assigned, provides services for the Meds to Beds program.
Generates reports as required.
Answers the telephone, identifying self and department.
Directs calls to appropriate personnel.
Answers requests at the window.
Accepts prescriptions from patients and provides prescriptions and charge transaction at pick up window.
Organizes and prioritizes work assignments.
Maintains logs, records and other required documentation accurately.
Files in appropriate locations.
Demonstrates good verbal and written communication.
Keeps pharmacy areas clean, neat, and well-organized.
Keeps pharmacy equipment clean.
Completes all assigned retail medication storage area inspections in a timely manner.
Conducts quality monitors, collects data and completes documentation, as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES High School diploma, or equivalent.
College courses desirable, but not required.
Current pharmacy technician certification and Ohio Board of Pharmacy registration required.
Two years pharmacy technician experience preferred, but not required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
